Doorstep delivery was a service Denarius introduced in March 2020, in response to the coronavirus outbreak. At the time, customers could have coins and banknotes delivered to their door at most addresses for a small surcharge of 50 kroner. That way, nobody had to leave the house or break quarantine to collect a parcel.

How doorstep delivery worked

The offer applied only to tracked shipments and only to addresses the courier could reach. There were many of these, though not all. The scheme was also limited to mainland Norway, and it was meant to last for a limited period from the outset. Customers who wanted home delivery sent an email to Denarius customer service.

An offer from the spring of 2020

The announcement was published on 14 March 2020, just two days after the Norwegian government introduced sweeping infection control measures. Many people were in quarantine or chose to stay at home. The background is described in Wikipedia’s article on the COVID-19 pandemic in Norway. The offer belonged to that period and remains here as part of Denarius’ history.
