In March 2022, Denarius held a fundraiser for Ukraine: a share of every sale on denarius.no for the rest of that month was donated to UNICEF and its work for children and families in the country.
Why Denarius held a fundraiser for Ukraine
Collecting and studying coins and banknotes are interests that know no national borders. Researchers, buyers and dealers can be found in every country in the world. In the spring of 2022, however, it became difficult to serve customers in two European countries, Ukraine and Russia, which were at war.
On 24 February 2022, Russia launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Ukraine was under attack, and civilians were living in horrible conditions. Denarius wanted to contribute to children and families in distress, and on 9 March 2022 we announced that a percentage of all our sales on denarius.no for the rest of March would go to UNICEF and its work in Ukraine.
How the donation worked
- 15% of payments made by bank transfer were donated to UNICEF.
- 10% of payments made with PayPal were donated to UNICEF.
- The pledge applied to all sales on denarius.no from the announcement until the end of March 2022.

The fundraiser covered every purchase in the shop, whether it was Norwegian coins, banknotes or Greek and Roman coins.
